Time
Students in fourth grade are expected to be given end time, start time, and figure out elapsed time.
Example
I start cooking at 12:30pm, I finish cooking at 1:45pm. How long was I cooking?
They're also expected to be given start time and elapsed time and figure out the end time.
Example
I start dancing at 1:40pm and I finish after forty-five minutes. When did I finish?
Lastly they need to be able to figure out start time if given elapsed and end times.
Example:
I played for three hours and twenty-minutes. If I finished playing at 3:30, what time was it when I started?

Also had to take a photo of me and Ava today since we had matching outfits.

Data Unit
Students add, subtract, multiply and divide rational numbers, and use them to solve problems dealing with data, measurement, and personal finance.
- 4.9 Data analysis. The student applies mathematical process standards to solve problems by collecting, organizing, displaying, and interpreting data. The student is expected to:
- 4.9A represent data on a frequency table, dot plot, or stem-and-leaf plot marked with whole numbers and fractions; R
- 4.9B solve one- and two-step problems using data in whole number, decimal, and fraction form in a frequency table, dot plot, or stem-and-leaf plot. S
- 4.8 Geometry and measurement. The student applies mathematical process standards to select appropriate customary and metric units, strategies, and tools to solve problems involving measurement. The student is expected to:
- 4.8C solve problems that deal with measurements of length, intervals of time, liquid volumes, mass, and money using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division as appropriate.
This unit is all about organizing data.
Here's a great website for this topic. You can even make your own graph here.
Here's a good site for stem and leaf plots.
Here's one for dot plots!
